Baby Tortie nibbling some greens and then napping.
Baby Socks napping beside Baby Tortie, note the little paw on Baby Tortie’s back.
Baby Tippy, sampling the nip his Momma spilled!
And Momma Tortie, sleeping off her nip-fest!(She found the bag of catnip, opened it and spilled it everywhere!)

I was given this wonderful award by Miles:and also someone who is always there to help anyone who needs it.” Thank you so much, Miles. Wow. This is my first award ever!
Now, I would like to present this award to:
(1) Jody Harmon, the night trapper, works relentlessly to end stray cat colonies wherever she lives. The physical work of being a trapper is unbelievable especially with the extreme weather in Oregon. She really cares about the cats she rescues. Every cat she traps receives medical care, most times badly needed, and is neutered/spayed and put up for adoption. If she has no funds (most of the time), she uses her own limited fixed income. The Cat Blogosphere has held several fundraisers for Jody. Through her we were all able to experience the kind of joy that comes from knowing you’ve made a difference in at least one tiny life.
(2) Ann, Maggy & Zoey for tirelessly creating the most gorgeous graphics for everyone in the Cat Blogosphere this holiday season. Our blogs and websites and even our mail-out cards benefited from their incredible talent. Because of your hard work, you made this season brighter for all of us. Thank you for your generosity.
The Extraordinary Gold Star Award was created by Storm, The Furry Fighter and is for Bloggers who have achieved or done something special. The award celebrates beyond what is ordinary or usual.
1) Post the explanation and rules of the award and link back to the blogger who presented you with the award and repeat the reason why you received it.
2) Pass the Award on to two other Bloggers who you think deserve it and explain why.
Knightly, Lizzie & Firenze!

1. A package arrives and Bond reads the address.
2. He and the Mites agree — it’s for them!
See? The card clearly says “Mites”.
(Do you see the golden paw in the upper left corner? Someone is watching.)
3. BJ spills the package, and Bond is overjoyed to see packing peanuts!
4. KC comes over to check out the goodies!
5. BJ digs in the package and Bond plays with packing peanuts.
6. Autumn enjoys the card and Bungee Buddy.
7. Bond grabs Bunjee Buddy and Earl watches.
8. KC finds the rabbit fur toy. Yum!
9. Break time as KC realizes the temptations were passed out…
Double Yum!!
10. Back at the pile of goodies, BJ and Earl play bungee again.
Bond and Autumn are playing with the fur mouse.
11. And there are still lots more toys to be discovered.
Baby Tuxie & Tippy came and got the little pink mousie.
Baby Socks & Momma Tortie took the little black & white cow.
12. Missy gets away with the Bungee Buddy…
13. A Mite intercepts and passes it on to KC,
who was sleeping off Temptations.
It was a wonderful Secret Paw.
A bit hectic, but a lot of fun to share.
A big 13-cat thank you to Knightly, Lizzie & Firenze
for making the day after Christmas so very special.
And we would like to thank Diva Kitty & The Fluffies for Secret Paws.
Items from the pantry on the floor,
trash basket overturned, things pushed off the counters.
While Mites can be rowdy, they have never done anything like this.
They moved herd-like, darting from one place to another, and we realized they were tracking something.
BJ was the leader of the hunt, backed up by Earl and Sol.KC was on the sidelines, watching intently.
After a lot of scuffling, BJ goes in for the final pounce
while backup Earl looks on.
Once pounced, the Mites backed off to let KC approach…
… she touched it with her paw and declared it dead. Then all the cats followed KC and BJ out of the kitchen.
Leaving me to clean it up!

BTW, there are now kitty water bowls everywhere for them to drink from.
No more water glass business in this house!

She started throwing up Thursday night, drinking tons of water, sneezing, her eyes were swollen shut,
and — most shocking of all — she refused food!
The wonderful Dr. Smith and excellent staff graciously
worked her into their overbooked Friday schedule.
Turns out it was the same thing Momma Tortie had about two weeks ago.
We got the fishy (phew) lysine sprinkles for the food, some eye drops,
and, if needed, antibiotic for the next few days.
Dr. Smith noted Missy had “fight wounds” about the head
and I recalled Momma Tortie did also. Hmmmm.
I also asked them to shave Missy’s fur mats off her rear, back where her voluptuous figure prohibits her from grooming.
She can’t relax and sit comfortably.
Then I became fascinated with the patterns on her skin
as well as the vertical appearance of the individual hairs:
there are 3-4 different areas (biggify the photo).
The base is brownish, then a much lighter area,
a darker area above that and finally a glistening “tip”.
Oh, and she can do a highly immodest full monty now!
KC has worked very hard to train the next generation of Teknickle Cats. This team is made up of Sol, Earl and James Bond.
